Dazed And Confused pt 2

By an odd coincidence, The ever excellent Dave Osler has just posted a very similar article on alcohol to the one I wrote yesterday on his blog. http://www.davidosler.com Dave pays particular attention to recent attempts in Botswana to limit alcohol consumption which nearly brought that smal nation to its knees.

That was a very interesting posting by David Osler. Followers of this blog should read it.

OK, so we have a problem with some drinkers whose behaviour is way over the top, and so the Home Affairs Select Committee recently argued that happy hours should be banned, while supermarkets should not be allowed to retail the demon drink below cost price.

When I was teaching, it was considered totally unprofessional to punish a whole class for the misdemeanours of one or more miscreants, but this is exactly what the Home Affairs Select Committee is trying to do.

The proper solution to the problem would be to punish the wrongdoers and not the whole nation. Don’t you just hate politicians !!
