Catching Fire.

The poll on the travellers site issue certainly seems to have caught fire in the past 24 hours with a big swing towards the 'anti' position. We now have over 120 votes with 4 days to go. Hopefully the votes will keep on coming.

I now hear that part of the Parish Council meeting on monday will be turned over to a public discussion of this matter. Hopefully, there will be a good attendance and discussion of all the issues involved.

Thank God for that. At last Silverton residents are beginning to see some sense - and not before time !!

Internet polls are notoriously unreliable because people can make multiple votes. Alright for amusement but you'd be daft to take this seriously.

I think that there are also certain people voting one way, to annoy certain people voting the other. A bit of a wind up.

Of course, not only internet polls are open to rigging, as we have seen in some recent elections with the dodgy use of postal voting.

There will now be a full public meeting on the issue of the travellers site in the Millennium Hall on Monday 6 April, starting at 7.30 pm. This is an official meeting organised by the parish council and, unlike the previous cancelled meeting, the MDDC planners will be in attendance. The regular PC meeting has been moved to Tuesday.
